If you are a fan of both supernatural and The Boys, then you must have seen The Boys is getting a mini-reunion of Supernatural. Show creator Eric Kripke, the mastermind behind both shows, has brought on several Supernatural actors to play new roles in The Boys.
Jensen Ackles, Padalecki’s on-screen brother (The Winchesters Brothers) from Supernatural, played the role of Soldier Boy in Season 3. Other familiar faces like Jim Beaver and even Jeffrey Dean Morgan are set to appear in the upcoming season 4.
Jared Padalecki’s Hesitation
Well, he’s not in season 4, but he hasn’t ruled out a future appearance. He’s joked that if he does join the show, he wants plenty of time to get in shape.
The Boys is known for its, ahem, revealing scenes and Padalecki is a family man with three kids these days. He’s not exactly rocking that 25-year-old hunter physique anymore!
Kripke’s Keenness to Catch ‘Em All
Eric Kripke wants to have Padalecki on the show. He has said this on multiple occasions. He’s referred to the Supernatural actors as his Pokémon collection, and Padalecki is the one he’s still hoping to catch. With the recent cancellation of Padalecki’s show Walker, it seems like the stars might finally be aligning.
Final Words
While Padalecki hasn’t officially signed on yet, both he and Kripke seem open to the idea. Who knows, maybe we’ll see Sam Winchester as a Supe in Season 5. One thing I’m sure of is Padalecki won’t join for some mediocre role. Just like Jensen Ackles had the role of Soldier Boy, a supe that was nearly as strong as Homelander, Padalecki will also join as some overpowered character.
The Boys Season 4 is scheduled to air on 13th June on Amazon Prime. I just binge-rewatched the whole series, you should too and don’t forget to watch Gen V as it is also a sequel to The Boys Season 3.
