Multiversus, a free-to-play platform fighter based on WB characters, was just released. However, a lot of players including me are facing an issue. The game crashes as soon as you click the Play button on Steam. But the good news is, there are a few things you can try to fix.
MultiVersus just launched, and the player base has reached 90k realtime players on Steam. Looks like there were a lot of fans like me who were waiting for the game to launch, and they’re struggling to keep up. Another thing to keep in mind is that the launch version is different from the beta.
There was a big update when the game came out, so it’s possible there are some new bugs and glitches that are causing the crashes.
What Can You Do to Fix It?
First of all, you need to make sure your game is fully updated on Steam. That 10GB update was released for the players who were already playing the Beta version of the game.
If you’re playing on Steam, you can verify the game’s files to make sure nothing is missing or corrupted. Right-click on MultiVersus in your library, go to “Properties,” then “Local Files,” and select “Verify integrity of game files.”
Also, just to be on the safe side, go to your Nvidia GeForce Experience and check if any graphic driver popped up there and download it. Outdated drivers can cause all sorts of problems, including crashes.
A community member suggested this solution in the comments.
- Right-click on Multiversus on Steam.
- Go to launch options.
- Type -dx12.
- Run the game.
Hopefully this will resolve the crashing issue in Multiversus.
Unfortunately, if the problem is on the server side, there’s not much you can do except wait for developers to fix it. Keep an eye on their social media pages for updates.
Final Words
The game was crashing for me too. However, I got in now after verifying my files. Maybe the issue is within the files.
