The Boys Season 4 is finally here and the first 3 episodes of the season were released on Amazon Prime. Episode 4 Wisdom of the Ages will release on 20th June. The third season ended on a cliffhanger, with Butcher convincing everyone that Neuman has got to go (Murder her). During the Murder Neuman Operation, the vice president-elect spared Hughie’s life despite having the upper hand. Why didn’t she just pop his head like she does?

Neuman’s Calculated Move

Neuman’s decision not to kill Hughie was not out of compassion or friendship. It was a wise move for her since she is aiming for the Oval Office and killing The Boys would do her no good as they have dirt on her and they are the only ones who got a chance against Homelander even though Neuman is with Homelander now because of mutually beneficial goals but even she knows if Homelander decides to off her he will.

Why Didn’t Victoria Neuman Kill Hughie in The Boys Season 4?

I didn’t quite expect Neuman to be invulnerable though even a bullet to the head didn’t do any good. The Boys original plan was to make her blind but due to Butcher’s recklessness and her daughter Zoe being there, the plan didn’t quite work.

Neuman then visits Hughie who apparently is in the car being the guy in the chair for the team.

Hughie thinks she is going to kill her so he gets emotional and tries to make Neuman emotional too.

However, Neuman had no plans or motive to kill Hughie at all. Hughie then throws the bottle of acid on her but it doesn’t work. In the meantime, Butcher arrives and shoots her in the head and it doesn’t work either.

By offering a truce, Neuman is playing the long game. She’s hoping to de-escalate the situation and gain the upper hand.

Final Words

She is the step daughter of Stan Edgar and she learned from the best, she is not like Homelander to just go and murder people out of fun.

She makes moves strategically and that is why she is politically successful.

Murdering members of The Boys is going to do no good to her. She does not even want to come out as a Supe.

We can only speculate about what Neuman’s ultimate plan is. Is she truly willing to coexist with The Boys, or is this just a waiting game for her once she has achieved her goals she will end up killing The Boys.
