Palia is a cozy, beautiful world full of things to do – fishing, befriending villagers, and even going on exciting side quests! One of these quests involves tracking down mysterious whale bones along the shore, and it leads to some fun rewards. Let’s explore together and find those fragments!
Where to Find Jina
To kick off this questline, you’ll need to head to Bahari Bay, east of Klima Valley. Here’s how to find Jina, the NPC who gives you the quest:
- Once in Bahari Bay, follow the coastline east until you reach Beachcomber Cove.
- Start fishing in the ocean! It might take a bit, but eventually you’ll reel in a chest with a Bone Fragment inside.
- Find Jina in Klima Valley (her icon is on the map). Giving her the fragment starts the “Whale of a Tale” quest.
Finding the Rest of the Bones
Unfortunately, there’s no shortcut to finding the whale bones. Head back to the same area of Bahari Bay where you found the first fragment. Don’t worry about wasting resources, you don’t need bait for bone fishing.
Cast your line where the ocean looks open, then move around and do the same. It’s all about patience! Keep fishing until you’ve collected four total Bone Fragments.
Quest Rewards
Once you’ve got all four fragments, return to Jina. You’ll receive:
- 25 Renown points are a nice reward for your trouble!
- Jina will mail you a Sketch of a Whale. This is a unique decoration for your Palia home!
Final Words
If you’re new to fishing in Palia, check out some beginner’s guides, I haven’t covered them on this blog yet but I will later. The better you get at fishing, the faster this quest will go. Bahari Bay is gorgeous, so even if the bones take a while to find, it’s fun to just hang out by the sea! I hope you found my guide helpful. Don’t forget to comment if I missed anything. I will cover more about Palia. However, while you are at it check out my Dragon’s Dogma 2 guides as well:
