Grimoires are powerful books in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and Towering Earth holds the secrets of the awesome High Seism spell. Getting it, though, involves helping out a troubled young lady and a stubborn prisoner. Let’s discuss how you can get this book-type magic thingy.

The Caged Magistrate

The first step to getting Towering Earth is actually completing a main quest called “The Caged Magistrate“.

You’ll get this mission from Commander Brant in the capital city of Vernworth. Some players find it easier to sneak into the dungeon if you wear the Eventide Mask, which is a head armor that will make you anonymous.

However, to get this you need to complete Monster Culling. You might be able to find this set earlier in the game. Find Waldhar, he’s locked up in the Vernworth Dungeon. You’ll need a key from Brant to get in.

Waldhar, the imprisoned magistrate, loves books more than freedom! To convince him, you’ll need to promise to take him somewhere with a huge library. Select the option “Urge him to escape“.

Back to Trysha (The Book-Loving Granddaughter)

Remember Trysha, the girl who wanted grimoires in the “Spellbound” quest? Once you’ve rescued Waldhar, it’s time to go back to her.

Waldhar’s Gift

Turns out, he’s happy to give up the Towering Earth grimoire as thanks for getting him out of prison. You just need to talk to him again and again and he will give you the Grimoire.

You can now give the book to Trysha to help her learn magic. I’ve covered the whole Trysha guide in my other article in which I’ve covered all 5 Grimoires locations.

The Towering Earth grimoire is a powerful tool for any sorcerer in your party. Make sure to equip it on someone who can use it!

Final Words

Glitches can happen, so save your game frequently to avoid losing progress. Forging a grimoire just makes a copy, so you can always make more to give to other party members. The more you explore Vernworth, the more likely you are to find shortcuts or useful items to help with quests like this. I hope this guide was helpful!
