Genshin Impact’s world quests are full of amazing adventures and sometimes tricky puzzles. The Last Day of Remuria quest is no exception, taking you into the Sea of Bygone Eras on a mission to rescue the mystery fish like creature known as Scylla.

Along the way, you’ll need to break the chains that imprison this fallen dragon, but there’s a catch – some of those chains involve gaining trust and solving unique musical puzzles. This mission takes place in the underwater area as shown in the image below.

How to Break Chains That Bind Scylla in Genshin Impact

Chain #1: The Battle Cave

The first chain leads you into a cave in the southern Sea of Bygone Eras. You’ll be up against some Geo-shielded Nameless golems.

Once you take down the golems, you’ll see a glowing spot. Interact with it to switch to “symphony mode”. This mode lets you send out soundwaves with your Elemental Skill.

Target the strange tower with a soundwave, and you’ll see the first chain break away from Scylla! Don’t forget to snatch the reward chest that appears.

Chain #2: Earning the Leader’s Trust

You can find the second chain in Portus Anticus. As you reach the guarded area, you’ll overhear some of the nameless golems. You need to gain their trust

Here’s the trick – the leader of these golems is all about following orders to the letter. To gain his trust, you’ll have to choose your words carefully. Here are the answers that work best:

  • “…Sebastos does not permit the harm of innocent people.”
  • “Yet you are not receiving the melody.”
  • “Phobos’s silence signifies rejection.”

With the golems gone, you can approach the tower and break the second chain using your symphony mode just like before.

Chain #3: The Octopus Symphony

The final chain seems a little different – it involves flowers, floating jellyfish-like creatures, and a whole lot of musical chimes. Here’s how this puzzle works:

  1. The jellyfish things (Washer Octopuses) have energy barriers that cover different patches of glowing flowers.
  2. Your job is to wait for each Octopus’s barrier to completely cover all the flowers nearby. It’s like they’re getting “in tune” with the flowers.
  3. When an Octopus is matched to its flowers, switch to symphony mode and blast it with a soundwave from your Elemental Skill. You’ll know you’ve done it right if that little music note symbol on top of the Octopus changes.
  4. Do this for all four Octopuses!

If you manage to lock in all of them, a scene will play and you’ll finally break the last chain!

Final Words

And that is all you need to know, with my guide you can break chains that bind Scylla in Genshin Impact 4.6 and free her.
