Space Marines 2 will officially be released on 9th September. However, if you have purchased the gold or ultimate edition, you’ll gain access before the official release date.
Many players pre-purchased those versions and got early access. However, just like every other game, Space Marines 2 has launch day issues.
I have already covered the Space Marines 2 Controller Issues and the CPU Overheating issue. In this article, I will be discussing the Stuck on Loading Resources issue that a lot of players are facing while playing Space Marines 2.
Space Marines 2 Black Screen Issue
This issue occurs for some right at startup, while others experience it after the initial cutscene. In either case, it’s a major roadblock to enjoying the game.
If you are experiencing a black screen after launching, you need to be patient since it takes some time to load the first time. If you have an HDD, just transfer the game to an SSD.
However, this issue also occurs after launching the campaign as well. After the initial cutscene, the screen fades to a gradient of black and white, with a loading icon that endlessly spins.
It may appear that you are stuck on Loading Resources, but this is not the case, the game is going to take some time to load the resources. If, however, you genuinely believe the game is frozen, a workaround exists.
Solution
Launching the game in offline mode seems to have fixed the problem for a lot of players. However, if you go back online you will have to wait for the “loading resources”.
Moreover, use the “Verify Integrity of Game Files” option within Steam to make sure everything is in order and there are no corrupted files.
Final Words
While the offline workaround seems to work, it’s not a permanent solution, at some point you will want to play online too. Hopefully, the developers will acknowledge this issue and release a patch to fix the stuck loading resources issue.
