However, you can install and play the Java Edition of Minecraft on the Steam Deck using a launcher called Prism. This launcher lets you choose the specific version of Minecraft you want to play.
- Download and install Prism on your Steam Deck (desktop mode).
- Use Prism to install the desired Minecraft Java Edition.
- Add Prism as a non-Steam game in SteamOS.
- Configure the controller buttons for Minecraft through Steam Input.
