I’ve been a huge fan of Ghost of Tsushima on PlayStation, and when I heard it was finally hitting PC, I had that mix of excitement and the typical curiousity of “Will it be packed with annoying DRM?” So the answer to that is, NO, There is no Denuvo in Ghost of Tsushima PC port.
Why the No-Denuvo Celebrations?
One of the most awesome things about the PC port is that Sony decided to skip Denuvo, that controversial anti-piracy software. For me, this is HUGE. Denuvo’s been a pain for a lot of us PC gamers, often causing performance dips and even messing with save files. Ghost of Tsushima is already visually stunning, so skipping Denuvo means we can enjoy it without worrying about extra headaches.
Personally, I think it’s a smart move for Sony. PC gamers often prioritize freedom and a smooth experience, and this shows they’re listening. Plus, it’s good PR for them as they keep expanding into the PC market.
Why Would Sony Even Bother with PC?
Let’s be real, this isn’t some grand act of charity. Sony’s got a strategy here. They want more people to experience their awesome games (and hopefully get hooked enough to buy a PlayStation for sequels).
Even if some PC players pirate the game, they’re still experiencing the story, the characters, and the incredible world Sucker Punch built. That builds hype for the franchise, which is always good for Sony.
More Good News for PC Gamers
The PC version isn’t just a straight port, either. We’re getting some seriously cool stuff:
- Unlimited FPS: If your rig’s up to it, you can crank that frame rate as high as you want for ultra-smooth action.
- Graphics Galore: Tons of options to tweak the visuals to your liking.
- Ultrawide Gloriousness: 21:9, 32:9, even 48:9 triple monitor support?! Yes, please!
- Japanese Lip Sync: For that extra level of immersion, you can have the lip movements match the Japanese voice acting. Nice touch!
- DualSense Support: If you have that PS5 controller, plug it in and get the full haptic feedback experience. But even mouse and keyboard players get fully customizable controls.
So, Should You Play It?
Heck yeah! If you haven’t experienced Jin’s story yet, or want to revisit it with all the PC perks, jump on it. The lack of Denuvo is a big win for us gamers, and it’s exciting to see Sony treating PC players with respect.
