I was super excited to finally play Manor Lords, and imagine the frustration when all I got was a crash screen! That “Low Level Fatal Error” can be a real drag, especially when you’re ready to build your dream medieval town. I found a fix to this issue too, well not me, a guy from the Reddit community, and this fix worked for me.

It’s always worth trying this! Right-click Manor Lords in your Steam library, go to “Properties”, then “Local Files”, and there’s an option to verify your game installation.
Community Fix
Fancy new graphics cards have a cool feature called “Ray Tracing” for super realistic lighting effects. Manor Lords might not like it. The “-d3d11” launch option turns this feature off.
Games use different versions of DirectX to talk to your graphics card. Forcing Manor Lords to use a specific version (with “-dx11” or “-dx12”) can sometimes fix things.
- Find Manor Lords in your Steam library and right-click on it.
- There’ll be an option at the bottom called “Properties”, click that!
- Under the “General” tab, you’ll see a box to type in launch options. Try something like “-d3d11” and see if it works!
Developers are likely working on a proper patch. Early access is a bit bumpy sometimes, but it’s part of the fun being involved in a game’s development!
Don’t hesitate to ask around on forums or the game’s Discord. Chances are other players have seen this error and might have other tricks up their sleeves. Let’s get you building that medieval village!
