The debate has been going on for over a year now since Maki annihilated her entire clan solo. So, is Maki Zenin stronger than Toji Fushiguro now?

They are both from the Zenin clan and both have the Heavenly Restriction, no cursed energy at all.

Maki was initially underestimated due to her lack of cursed energy. Maki trained hard and became a total badass with her weapon skills and physical strength.

However, still in the JJK 0 movie we saw Geto playing with her like she was nothing. At that time she was still weak and depended on the weapons she had at that time.

Even in JJK Season 1, she was weak and in season 2 during the Shibuya Arc, Dagon pretty much roughed her up as there was a huge strength difference between them.

However, as soon as Toji arrived with no cursed energy at all he defeated Dagon like Dagon was nothing even though he was a special grade curse.

But if we compare the current Maki with the Toji, we already know the answer Maki is a lot stronger than Toji now.

Maki Zenin got a power-up

In the Shibuya arc, she was burnt by Jogo but she survived with burn marks all over her body. Jogo at that time burnt Nanami and killed the leader of the Zenin Clan of that time.

In the manga, Maki’s sister dies during the fight against Zenin Clan.

Turns out, Mai was holding her back and after her death, Maki got a major power up. After that, she easily defeated the entire Zenin clan, which was a huge deal.

However, this does not mean she is stronger than Toji now.

Even Toji could kill the entire Zenin clan if he wanted to but he had no motive to do so and the younger version of Gojo killed him.

In the latest chapters, Maki fought Sukuna and held her own against him too but got Black Flashed many times.

Right now there is no news if she is even alive or dead, after the recent black flash she and Yuta disappeared.

Turns out Yuta was slashed and he was cut half by Sukuna just like Gojo. Yuta then took over Gojo’s body to defeat Sukuna but failed.

Toji Became A Hitman

Toji Fushiguro, also known as the “Sorcerer Killer,” was already a legend before Maki got her powers.

Even Gojo, who’s considered one of the best, lost to him once but it was because Gojo had no idea what Toji abilities were and Toji jumped on him surprisingly. However, because of this Gojo learnt RCT.

After his death, he reappeared in Shibuya Arc when some granny summoned him hoping to control him but because he has no cursed energy he cannot be controlled.

Toji went on a killing spree and just looked for the strongest sorcerer or cursed spirit.

Even dagon with whom even the strongest sorcerer were having a hard time, Toji killed him like he was nothing it was all over before it even started.

Toji then killed himself after finding out about his son that his son didn’t join the Zenin Clan.

Maki is Stronger Than Toji Now

Maki’s awakening unlocked her true potential. She gained a body of steel and superhuman strength, durability, and reflexes.

This makes her almost as strong as a special grade sorcerer. She can now survive attacks that would be fatal to most sorcerers, including Jogo’s fire attacks which are around 1250 degrees celsius.

Her durability is further evidenced by her ability to survive getting hit by Naoya, who was moving at subsonic speed during the Zenin clan annihilation.

Maki has surpassed Toji. Maki is now stronger than Toji, she was able to dodge Sukuna’s World Slashes, something that even Gojo couldn’t do.

Both Maki and Toji are amazing fighters with their own strengths and weaknesses. However, Maki has reached a level way higher than anyone else.

She is now a special grade level but she can’t use cursed energy to defend herself against cursed techniques like cursed speech or idol transfiguration.
