How To Complete Cache Retrieval in Gray Zone Warfare (GZW)

Gray Zone Warfare - Cache Retrieval Mission

Find Us on Socials

I’ve been playing Gray Zone Warfare since the day it was released in Early Access. I have already covered a lot of missions. Starting missions in Gray Zone Warfare can feel a bit weird and easy, and the Cache Retrieval task from Gunny is no exception. Your job? Sneak into your nearby town and plant GPS trackers in hidden caches. Sounds a little easy, right? But hey, you gotta start somewhere!

Trackers Check

Gray Zone Warfare - Cache Retrieval Mission

First things first, make sure you’ve actually got those GPS trackers in your inventory. Gunny gives you two at the start, but if you’ve died since grabbing this mission, they’re gone! You’ll need to hop back to base camp and get some more from Gunny – they’re 50 bucks a tracker.

Your two targets are the town’s Warehouse and Lumberyard. Each starting town will have these, but their exact locations can vary depending on which faction you’re with.

Find the Stash

172 and 119 are the coordinates for the lumberyard stash. For the warehouse, 172 and 117 are the coordinates.

Lumberyard

Head towards the main gate. Look for a small, unlocked shed – it’s on the left side. The cache is a pile of crates and boxes inside.

Warehouse

Check the area just to the right of the main warehouse building. You should see another smaller building – just open the door, the cache is a similar pile of crates and boxes tucked inside.

With a cache found, just hold ‘F’ to place your GPS tracker inside. Do this at both locations and boom! The mission is almost complete. Head back to base camp and report to Gunny to finish the quest. Dying means those GPS trackers vanish. Try to avoid nasty surprises and save yourself the extra trip back to Gunny’s vendor shop.
