Every true Arisen knows that learning from Maisters is key to mastering your chosen class in Dragon’s Dogma 2. If you’re playing the Mage class, then Eini, a wise and experienced magic user, is the one you want to seek out. But getting to her and unlocking her teachings is a quest in itself!

Where’s Eini Hiding?

Search northwest of the Borderwatch Outpost, or directly north of the quiet town of Melve. Remember, these lands of Vermund are full of hidden paths and shortcuts. Simply follow the path north of Moonglow Garden. Daylight is safest! While the roads aren’t overly dangerous, you wouldn’t want to stumble into trouble while searching for Eini’s House. The “Spellbound” Problem

Once you find Eini’s House, things won’t be as simple as knocking on the door. Eini has a granddaughter, Trysha, and this young girl has a problem.

Trysha desperately wants to learn magic, but her grandparents are forbidding it. You’ll have to come back another day to find them gone and start the “Spellbound” quest. This quest is mostly about finding five old, rare magic grimoires scattered throughout the land. Buckle up for some travel – make sure you’ve saved some gold for fast-travel or oxcarts!

Let There Be Light

This one is in Trysha’s father’s house (Myriddin’s Home) in Checkpoint Rest Town. You’ll need to dress fancy (Courtly Tunic and Breeches) for him to even let you in the door. The tome is on his upstairs desk.

Fulminous Shield

Seek out the trader named Dudley in Melve (where you go for the “In Dragon’s Wake” main quest). He’s near the north entrance. It’ll cost around 5000G, so have those coins ready!

Nation’s Death Knell

Two options here: brave the Waterfall Cave dungeon early on (risky under level 20!), or venture into the Ancient Battleground northeast of Checkpoint Rest Town. The book is on a pedestal in a side room of the castle.

Howling Blizzard

  • Option 1: Find Wendy in Namless Village and trade the “Fulminous Shield” book (not recommended early on).
  • Option 2: Found in the same chest as “Nation’s Death Knell” in Waterfall Cave.

Towering Earth

Speak to Waldhar, who you rescue from prison during “The Caged Magistrate” quest. You can find him again in The Gracious Hand’s vaults back in the Slums.

How To Complete Spellbound Quest

Bring all five grimoires back to Trysha at Eini’s House. You’ll need to rest for a day or two before the story progresses. Check back at the house.

Trysha’s experimenting with her newfound magic will go awry. Avoid direct attacks! Instead, wait out her spellcasting frenzy, then quickly grab her when she collapses. Another waiting period after calming Trysha. Rest again, then return one final time.

Final Words

For bringing her those dusty tomes, she shares the Conjurer’s Jottings, a powerful asset for any Mage. She will now teach you the potent Celestial Paean skill and give you the Enchanter’s Almanac.
