Can You Fix Manor Lords Homelessness Bug?

Manor Lords is a blast, but it’s not perfect yet. One super annoying bug a lot of players (including myself!) have run into is villagers remaining homeless despite having empty houses waiting for them. It’s really irritating, but don’t worry – there are some workarounds, and the developers are working on fixing this issue.

Why Villagers Might Stay Homeless

This seems to be a few different bugs tangled together. Double-check you actually have at least one Burgage Plot for each homeless family. Sometimes saving and reloading forces the game to “refresh” and recognize empty houses.

Houses destroyed by fire or raiders might still wrongly register as “homeless” even if rebuilt. If all else fails, it’s possible (though unlikely) that your save file has a deeper bug that a fresh start might fix.

What You Can Do (For Now)

Do a headcount of homeless families and make sure you have enough Burgage Plots. Remember, each plot needs wood to build! Save your game, exit to the main menu, and load that save again. Wait a few minutes, and see if villagers start settling in.

If it’s still not working, consider upgrading the Homeless Tents to a Worker Camp. It’s a quick fix for housing, but might hurt your approval rating a bit.

After trying all this, monitor your homelessness levels. Things should gradually improve as families move in. If not, and you’ve waited a decent in-game time, there might be a bigger issue with your save.
