There are some errors you just can’t avoid if the game is made on Unreal Engine 5. Fatal Error is one of them.
Many of the games I’ve played this year, developed on UE5, had this problem. Even recently, when I first launched Bodycam, I ran into this issue.
Black Myth Wukong is a new RPG game that was released today. The game is based on the Chinese mythology and is developed by the Game Science studio.
Black Myth Wukong is also developed using Unreal Engine and a lot of players are facing this exact issue.
Black Myth Wukong Crashing
I am not quite sure why this error occurs on the games developed using UE5, my assumption is, that it is due to the corrupted or missing files.
Verify The Files
Open Steam on your PC or laptop. Right-click on Black Myth Wukong in your Steam library go to Properties then go to Local Files and click on Verify integrity of game files.
Wait for the process to complete and then relaunch the game to check if the issue is resolved or not.
If the game crashes without showing a Fatal Error, your computer might not be powerful enough to run it. Compare your computer’s specs to the game’s minimum requirements:
Specification | Minimum Requirement | Recommended Requirement |
---|---|---|
Processor | Intel Core i5-8400 or equivalent | Intel Core i7-9700 or equivalent |
Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 |
If your computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, you might need to upgrade it to play Black Myth Wukong smoothly.
Final Words
This is not a guaranteed fix, but most of the time verifying your files fixes the crashing due to fatal errors. The game has just launched so there will be launch day issues, give it some time and the developers will release the patches soon.
