If this is your first time playing an RPG and you have never touched any game from FromSoft, then you are going to have a hard time dealing with Black Myth Wukong Bosses.
Even the early bosses will end up being a nuisance for you. The ability to dodge and attack matters, however, your build matters the most against the bosses.
The good thing is, in Black Myth Wukong, you can reset your build at any shrine and adjust it according to the boss you are going to fight.
My personal strategy is, first I look for the boss and fight to learn the pattern so that I can decide which build I should go with.
In this game, the sparks are considered the stat points, which you can use to upgrade your abilities and spells. There are 3 branches in the early game, Foundation, Staff Stances, and Mysticism (spells).
The Foundation menu consists of 3 abilities: Stamina, Martial Arts, and Survival.
Then there are staff instances, Smash Stance, Pillar Stance, and Thrust Stance.
In Mysticism, you only have one spell called Immobilize. This skill lets you freeze enemies, which can be very helpful in combat.
To unlock each ability, you need to spend spark points, which you keep on getting throughout your journey each time you level up.
In this article, I am going to guide you on how to set up the best skill build in Black Myth Wukong for Early Bosses like Guangzhi and Wandering Wight.
Category | Ability/Skill | Points/Focus | Purpose |
---|---|---|---|
Foundation | Rampant Vigor (Survival) | 3 Spark Points | Increases stamina, essential for dodging and attacking. |
Foundation | Simian Agility (Stamina) | 2 Spark Points | Enhances stamina recovery, crucial for continuous movement. |
Staff Stances | Resolute Counterflow | 1 Spark Point | Nullifies enemy attacks, making defense more manageable. |
Mysticism | Immobilize | Base Skill (Unlocked) | Freezes enemies, key for controlling early bosses. |
Mysticism | Stagnation | 1 Spark Point | Extends Immobilize duration, useful for staggering bosses. |
Recommended Items | Body Cooling Powder | Use in Boss Fights | It helps against fire element damage. |
Foundation
So in this ability section, your focus should be on stamina. Sprinting consumes your stamina, and dodging and attacking consumes your stamina.
If you don’t have stamina, you won’t be able to dodge the attacks of enemies. You need to maximize your stamina, you can do this by spending sparks on Rampant Vigor in the survival.
Before fighting Guangzhi, make sure you have at least 7 spark points. Use 3 of them on Rampant Vigor, then use 2 of them on Simian Agility in Stamina abilities.
Staff Stances
These are all stances, so even if you don’t unlock any it will be fine against the early bosses. However, I did spend one spark point on Resolute Counterflow. Using this focus point, you can see through the enemy attack and nullify their damage.
Mysticism
This is important, as Immobilization ability is the key to defeating all the bosses. This ability along with heavy attack to stagger the enemy will be the only technique you are going to need against the early bosses.
Use the last remaining spark point on Stagnation, as this will increase the immobilization duration the second time you attack the boss with it after you have dealt light combos to the boss.
Final Words
I have personally tested this build against Guangzhi, Lingxuzi, and Wandering Wight. This build does not guarantee you the win against the bosses, you will still have to pretty much attempt it again and again. Use items like Body Cooling Powder that can be beneficial for you within the fight.
