Kaiju No. 8 is the latest manga series focusing on monsters that are terrorizing the cities and the Defense Task Force has to kill these monsters to protect the civilians. The anime adaption of this manga is also ongoing and Kaiju No 8 Episode 10 was just released yesterday,
There are more than 100 chapters released and I have read all the released chapters and finally decided to write on all the Kaijus that appeared in the series so far.
In the series, the Japan Anti-Kaiju Defense Force (JAKDF) uses special suits made from Kaiju’s skin to fight the Kaiju and a ranking system called the Fortitude Level to figure out how strong each Kaiju is. The higher the fortitude level, the stronger the Kaiju is.
Kaiju No. 14
Kaiju No 14 was created to counter Mina Ashiro. This weird Kaiju is actually super strong.
It can shoot energy beams and make force fields to protect itself. Its special trick is teleporting, so it’s hard to hit.
Captain Ashiro uses a beam canon which requires charging so the weapon is slow but the raw power is enough to take down even the strongest Kaiju. However, Kaiju No 14 was made it this way so Ashiro cannot hit it.
But it’s not very smart in a fight, so this Kaiju is easily manageable by the Defense Force. It has a fortitude level of 9.0.
Kaiju No. 10
Kaiju No. 10 is like a giant armored car. It has really tough skin and is super fast. It even gets bigger and stronger, changing into a massive monster with a Fortitude Level of 9.
But even though it’s strong, it gets distracted by wanting a good fight, and that’s how the Defense Force takes it down.
Vice Captain fought Kaiju No. 10 even though he was no match for the transformed Daikaiju. Ashiro arrives and manages to shoot the core of the Kaiju.
Kaiju No. 10 after getting defeated, creates a bomb in his last moment but Kafka protects the third division but the base gets destroyed.
This is the first prototype created by Kaju No. 9. When it is defeated, Hoshina takes control of its weapons.
Kaiju No. 13
Kaiju No. 13 is all about winning. It’s incredibly fast and strong, with a Fortitude Level of 9.2. It doesn’t care about anything else but defeating its enemies.
This Kaiju is the most primitive of the numbered Kaiju. Our Kafka, Kaiju No. 8 defeats him easily in the manga.
Kaiju No. 15
Kaiju No. 15 looks like a little kid, but it is just a ploy to get attention. It’s a scary Kaiju that can change its shape and mess with people’s minds. This Kaiju has a fortitude level of 9.5.
It uses its powers to exploit people’s fears and insecurities. This Kaiju was created to defeat Kikoru Shinomiya and it had her memories too.
Kaiju No. 12
This Kaiju was specifically designed to defeat Hoshina the vice-captain of the third division defense task force. Kaiju No. 12 is like a more advanced version of Kaiju No. 10. It is super strong and can copy the moves of its opponents. Soshiro Hoshina had a hard time fighting this Kaiju since it could replicate his moves.
Kaiju No. 4
Kaiju No. 4 is incredibly fast because of the many wings on its back. It’s so fast that even the best Defense Force fighters have a hard time keeping up.
It has a fortitude level of 8.3 and can manipulate electricity.
Kaiju No. 2
Kaiju No. 2 is a huge monster that nearly destroyed a whole city. Though not much has been revealed by the author about this specific Kaiju since it was killed and weaponized by Isao Shinomiya. Later Kaiju No 9 killed Director Isao and absorbed the No 2. Kafka and Narumi tried to defeat No 9 but failed.
Kaiju No. 1
Kaiju No. 1 is special because it could see the future. We don’t know much about it, but its weaponized eyes give the user the power to predict their opponent’s moves. It was big but was defeated by the task force and later was weaponized by Captain Jen Narumi.
Kaiju No. 6
It’s called the “King of the Kaiju,” and for good reason. It killed a ton of Defense Force members and caused a lot of destruction. It even killed Isao Shinomiya’s wife. However, it got defeated and was weaponized too. It had a fortitude level of 9.6.
Kaiju No. 8
Kafka Hibino, the main character in the show was chosen to become the Kaiju No. 8. Nobody knows what the reason was for this but in the hospital Kaiju interacted with Kafka and eventually chose him.
Kaiju No. 8 is the main character of the story. He is by far the strongest Kaiju and has a fortitude level of 9.8. Kafka tried to hide the fact that he is a Kaiju.
However, during the invasion by the Daikaiju who destroyed the Third Division base, Kafka had no other choice but to become Kaiju and save everyone.
Kafka was then arrested and sent to a base where he met Isao Shinomiya who eventually let him go.
Kaiju No. 9 – The Villan
The main villain of the series, this Kaiju can create other Kaijus and possesses regenerative abilities.
Kaiju No. 9 is the main bad guy in the Anime. It’s a smart and dangerous Kaiju that can make clones of itself, regenerate, and control other monsters.
It is not the strongest Kaiju but it is constantly evolving and it is really smart, later he becomes a threat to the whole world in Kaiju No. 8.
During the fight with Isao, it fuses with Kaiju No 2 and becomes the strongest Kaiju to exist. Afterwards, he absorbs a lot of monsters to gain strength to fight against Kafka. Currently, at Chapter 111, Kaiju No 8 is fighting the No 9.
